A catalytic converter is an essential part of your vehicle’s exhaust system. It helps reduce toxic air pollutants by converting harmful gases into oxygen and water vapor. Unfortunately, if your catalytic converter isn’t working properly, it can cause damage to your engine and affect your car’s overall performance. However, there are several advantages to repairing or replacing a faulty catalytic converter, such as improved fuel economy, reduced emissions, and better engine performance. Let’s look at some of the benefits of catalytic converter repair.

Improved Fuel Economy

A faulty catalytic converter can cause your car to lose fuel efficiency due to its inability to convert harmful gases into oxygen and water vapor. By having your catalytic converter repaired or replaced, you can improve your vehicle’s fuel economy and reduce its environmental impact at the same time. This is especially important if you’re trying to save money on gas or if you’re looking for ways to reduce emissions from your vehicle.

Reduced Emissions

The primary purpose of a catalytic converter is to convert hazardous gases into less dangerous substances before they are released into the atmosphere. Unfortunately, when the converter isn’t functioning properly, those gases remain toxic, causing more pollution when released into the environment. Having it repaired can help reduce emissions and improve air quality in your area.

Better Engine Performance

When a catalytic converter isn’t working correctly, it can lead to engine misfires, stalling, and decreased acceleration due to increased back pressure in the exhaust system. This can harm your vehicle’s performance over time if not addressed promptly. On the other hand, repairing or replacing a malfunctioning catalytic converter can restore engine performance and increase acceleration power so you can get back on the road quickly with minimal disruption.

Catalytic converters are essential parts of vehicles that help reduce toxic air pollutants by converting them into less dangerous substances before being released into the environment. Unfortunately, when they aren’t functioning correctly, it can affect fuel economy and engine performance. Fortunately, there are several benefits to repairing or replacing a faulty catalytic converter, such as improved fuel economy, reduced emissions, and better engine performance—allowing you to get back on the road quickly without sacrificing quality or safety!

If you’ve had your steering and suspension system fail, you understand why it’s crucial to have these systems serviced regularly. Not only can a malfunctioning steering and suspension system cause significant damage to your vehicle, but it can also lead to dangerous driving conditions. However, you can take some simple steps to ensure your steering and suspension system remains in good working order. First, let’s explore the benefits of standard steering and suspension repair.

Safety Benefits

The most apparent benefit of steering and suspension repair is safety-a car’s steering and suspension system control how the vehicle handles on the road. If either of these systems fails, it can drastically reduce driver control over their car and put them at risk. Regularly servicing your car’s steering and suspension system ensures that everything is functioning properly, reducing the risk of an accident caused by poor handling or a sudden failure in the system.

Improved Comfort

Not only does regular maintenance improve safety but also comfort. For example, an improperly maintained or damaged suspension system can make for an uncomfortable ride and increase wear and tear on other components such as shocks, tires, ball joints, etc. Conversely, keeping these components in good condition will ensure a smooth ride without any bumps or rattles that worn-out parts could otherwise cause.

Longer Lifespan

Finally, one of the most significant benefits of regular maintenance on your vehicle’s steering and suspension systems is that it will extend its lifespan. Allowing these systems to become worn out or malfunctioning could easily lead to costly repairs down the line and a decreased performance from other parts due to an increase in wear-and-tear from an unbalanced ride height or other problems caused by failing components. Regularly servicing your car’s steering and suspension system helps ensure that all parts remain safe, comfortable, and efficient for many years!

If you want to keep your vehicle functioning safely, comfortably, and efficiently for years to come, then make sure you keep up with regular maintenance on its steering and suspension systems! Not only will this help ensure maximum safety while driving but also improved comfort levels due to a balanced ride height and longer-lasting components due to reduced wear-and-tear from improper maintenance or faulty parts. Contact us today if you need help with any steering or suspension repairs!

Your car, truck, or utility vehicle will pull to the side when you apply the brakes if one of the calipers is stuck. Unfortunately, this can happen if the calipers are older than 75,000 miles. This is the average lifespan of the brake calipers. In other words, they should be changed at this mileage milestone. Pulling to the side is just one problem that can occur with the brake system. Here are other problems.

Dashboard Warning

You may end up with a warning on your vehicle’s dashboard that the brake system is malfunctioning. Specifically, there are two lights on the dashboard that apply to the brake system. The first is the ABS light, and the second is the Brake light. If either of these lights illuminates while you are driving your automobile, pull over and call for a tow truck to bring you to our shop.

Strange Noises

Your brake system may also start to make strange noises if it is going bad. Specifically, it will squeal or scrape if the brake pads are too low. It may also squeal if it is getting too hot.

Wobbling/Shaking

Your vehicle can wobble or shake when you press down on the brake pedal if there is a piece of road debris stuck in one of the calipers. The automobile can also wobble or shake if the rotor surfaces are warped and need to be recut. This should be done every 60,000 miles.

Leaking Fluid

The brake system can also start to leak fluid if it is getting too old. Specifically, a sign that the master cylinder needs to be replaced is leaking brake fluid. In addition, the brake hoses can leak fluid if they have dried out and cracked.

Squishy Pedal

Speaking of the brake hoses, you may have air in them if your brake pedal feels squishy when you press down on it. Unfortunately, this air can cause the brakes to fail. As such, you should have your vehicle towed to our shop as soon as possible so we can believe the brake lines.

Overheating

Finally, the brake system can overheat if it is having problems. Excess heat will make the brakes squeal every time that you use them. You may also smell burning odors such as carpets or chemicals if the brake system is too hot.

Call us today if you need to schedule an appointment for your vehicle’s brake system. Remember, this is the most important safety system on your automobile.

Many people don’t realize how important it is to get regular oil changes. Not only does it keep your car running smoothly, but it also extends the life of your engine. The general rule of thumb is to get an oil change every 5,000 miles. However, this may vary depending on the type of car you have and how much you drive.

Type of Car

The type of car you have will play a role in how often you need to get your oil changed. If you have a newer car with a synthetic oil, you can usually go up to 10,000 miles before needing an oil change. However, if you have an older car or one that uses conventional oil, it’s best to stick to the 5,000 mile rule.

How Much You Drive

Another factor that comes into play is how much you drive. If you’re someone who drives long distances frequently, you’ll need to get your oil changed more often than someone who mainly drives around town. The reason for this is that when you’re driving long distances, your engine gets hot and breaks down the oil quicker.

All in all, getting regular oil changes is very important for the health of your car. If you’re unsure of how often you should be getting them, ask your mechanic or refer to your owner’s manual. And, if you’re ever in doubt, it’s always better to err on the side of caution and get an oil change sooner rather than later.
